"Skills get tested, both mentally and physically, so it will require a monumental effort to really dig deep to do well in these last eight weeks of Plunket Shield cricket, where the men are separated from the boys."

Van Wyk said in his absence it was a great opportunity for not only George Worker to captain the side but also the young talent to shine.
