Two men who were critically injured when a utility vehicle and a logging truck collided on SH5 near Te Pohue on Saturday have improved in hospital.

Brett Loveridge, 23, had been transferred to Waikato Hospital from Hawke's Bay Hospital for further treatment and was in a stable condition today, a hospital spokeswoman said.

A 29-year-old man had also improved and was in serious but stable condition in Hawke's Bay Hospital today.
