Fatal crash closes State Highway 2 in Central Hawke’s Bay

A person has died in a crash on State Highway 2 in Central Hawke’s Bay this morning.

Emergency services were called to a collision involving two vehicles about 8.10am.

Police confirmed this afternoon one person had died at the scene.

The crash closed SH2 between Speedy Rd and the SH50 intersection.

The stretch of highway reopened shortly before 4pm.

Motorists were detoured via SH50, Nelsons Rd, Burnside Rd and Speedy Rd.
