The missing 4-year-old reunited with anxious family.

A missing Haumoana four-year-old was found as darkness descended on the coastal community.

Police had swarmed on Haumoana, 12km south of Napier, to search for missing 4-year-old Bow O'Leary who was already being sought by anxious locals just after 4pm.

He had last been seen by his family at 3pm at his Hyla Road, Haumoana home.

Bow, who was barefoot, was found about 5.05pm and was believed to be uninjured. He was reunited with his grateful family.

Over a dozen officers and police dogs had searched the Hyla Road and Memorial Park area with help from the local fire brigade, family members and worried locals.
