Clive car crash ends in tragedy

A man has died after the car he was travelling in crashed on Farndon Road, just north of Kohupatiki Road in Clive.

Police said that it appeared that the car left the road, killing the elderly male driver.

The Serious Crash Unit are investigating and have closed Farndon Road while the scene examination is taking place. 

Diversions are in place at either end of Farndon Road where it joins Pakowhai Road to the South and State Highway 2 to the North. 

These diversions will be in place until approximately 5.00 pm this evening. 

People wishing to gain access to the Marae can still do so but must enter from the Pakowhai end of Farndon Road.
