Winter could be the new Summer in Hawke's Bay if F.A.W.C! ticket sales are anything to go by.

An attractive Food and Wine Classic (F.A.W.C!) series, designed to satisfy people's hunger for something to do in the cooler months, has tapped into a viable market, attracting locals and out-of-towners from throughout New Zealand.

Just three weeks after tickets went on sale, 24 of 48 events in this year's line-up have sold out, meaning more than 1600 tickets of just under 3000 available are already gone.

A couple of the most popular food and wine experiences have announced a second session, including the Bollinger Brunch with local chef James Beck at Millar Rd and Clearview Estate Winery's Wine Makers Long Table Lunch.

"Tim Turvey is a fabulous host - if you don't have anything booked yet this is going to be a goody," Hawke's Bay Tourism general manager Annie Dundas says.

There were a couple of larger events with plenty of tickets left such as the Hastings Pak'nSave Edible Fashion Awards on June 13 and Helicopter Trust Cocktail Party, June 19 - both of which promise a great night out.

"Edible is seriously cool - it's like our answer to WOW in Wellington, I went for the first time last year and there is some amazing creativity," Ms Dundas says.

Hunkering down in cosy locations, people will enjoy roaring fires, entertainment and endless lashings of produce prepared in a multitude of warming ways. Now in its third year, Winter F.A.W.C! runs from June 5 to 28, with something to suit every price point and all tastes from $40 to $250.
