Art Deco Weekend organisers and visitors are advised to keep a watchful eye on the western sky, as a wind change from the ranges brings the threat of rain later in the week.
"It's a forecast that people should be looking out for. We may see a few showers coming
in from the west on Sunday," MetService meteorologist John Law said.
"Over the next few days there will be light winds ... with temperatures likely to be up around that 27-28C mark."
It was too early to release an accurate weekend forecast but initial reports showed Saturday looked promising.
"We are right at the start of our cycle. At this stage it is not looking too bad but certainly [it's] something to keep an eye out for with those westerlies arriving."
