A small but enthusiastic crowd enjoyed an intimate evening entertained by Ali Harper with her show A Doris Day Special at Cactus Jacks in Waipawa last Friday.

With a stage set up to mimic filming a 1971 television special, audience members were treated to an array of hit songs including Sentimental Journey, A Secret Love and Que Sera Sera.

Ali has been touring the show through towns across New Zealand, presenting an energetic performance including multiple costume changes, audience participation, and a television slide show of images recalling the era when Doris Day was ranked the top female box-office star in the world.
