The boots are rolling in for the third annual Hawke's Bay Today Bring Yer Boots campaign.

The newspaper, in conjunction with Sport Hawke's Bay, is once again calling on its readers to bring in any footy boots and sports shoes for youngsters who cannot afford them.

Readers are encouraged to look for any old boots and hand them in at the newspaper's offices in Napier, Hastings, Waipukurau and Dannevirke. Those keen to donate boots in Wairoa can hand them in at the Wairoa Community Centre.

The cut-off date is Friday, April 29. Hawke's Bay Today will then hand over the boots to Sport Hawke's Bay which will distribute them to those in need.

Hawke's Bay Today editor Andrew Austin said the paper was pleased to be involved in such a rewarding project once again.

Mr Austin said a large number of boots had already been received.

"It is amazing to see. Boots of all shapes and sizes are being brought in," Mr Austin said.

"We are most appreciative to all those readers who donated them. I am sure the kids will be delighted."

Sport Hawke's Bay commercial manager Ryan Hambleton said Bring Yer Boots was a win-win campaign.

"Anything that will get kids more active and reduces the barriers is a good thing," he said.
