Businesses and homes in Waipukurau affected by water line issue

A number of business and residential properties were affected by an issue with a fitting off the main water line in Waipukurau on Wednesday morning.

Central Hawke's Bay District Council said following an investigation into a suspected water mains break, the water team identified an issue with a fitting off the main line.

The incident, which occurred about 9.50am on Wednesday, impacted business on Ruataniwha St and surrounding areas.

Russell St, Francis Drake St, River Tce, Peel St, Marlborough St, Bogle Brothers Esplanade, Northumberland St, Bedford Tce, Wellington Rd and South Service Lane were also affected.

A CHBDC spokeswoman said the team were able to address the issue "quite quickly".

Those in the impact areas were likely to experience a drop in water pressure while their team work to repair the break, according to the spokeswoman.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused," she said.
