TV One Breakfast show presenter Sam Wallace enjoys a laugh with his Napier audience during yesterday's Jetstar event on Marine Parade.

TV One Breakfast show presenter Sam Wallace enjoys a laugh with his Napier audience during yesterday's Jetstar event on Marine Parade.

One Napier woman is more delighted than most that Jetstar is gearing up to fly through Hawke's Bay.

Kylee Hodgetts was one of several hundred people who called by the Sound Shell colonnade in Napier yesterday morning to watch TV One's weather presenter Sam Wallace and his Breakfast show team join Jetstar staff in a celebration of the new services.

At the end of the morning's events a draw for $1000 of Jetstar travel was made and Ms Hodgetts' number came out - although as she explained it had been given to her by friend Rewa Nielson.

"She's happy for me to have it - I've never won anything before," she said, adding she would share the prize with her aunt.

"Don't know where we'll be going yet - it's very exciting."

The air travel was put up as part of a radio promotion.

Jetstar's New Zealand chief Grant Kerr was on hand to congratulate Ms Hodgetts and hand her the flight vouchers.

The airline and TV One also put on complimentary breakfasts for visitors.

In his weather presentation guise Mr Wallace was delighted to look about and see blue skies, sunshine and increasing warm temperatures after several days of late winter gloom.

"It's pretty good here - look at this," he told his national audience as he gestured toward the sky.
