Temporary speed restrictions and single lane stop-go systems have been put in place at two bridges in the region while repairs are carried out.
The work will create some delays for motorists although both works are scheduled to be wrapped up by the end of Tuesday.
Repairs have been underway on the Mohaka Bridge on SH5 between Napier and Taupo and on the Mangatewai Stream Bridge on SH50.
Impact on travel times were expected to be up to five minutes.
Temporary speed restrictions are also in place at the third bridge repair programme being carried out, at the Karamu Stream on SH2 near Hastings, although a New Zealand Transport Agency spokesman said delays would be negligible.
On SH2 south between Hastings and Dannevirke seal widening is being carried out on the stretch between Peka Peka and Mahanga with occasional delays expected as stop-go restrictions will be in place along with reduced speed limits.
On SH2 north of Napier seal widening as well as guardrail work is under way around Waihua and while delays were not expected motorists are advised to drive with caution through the area as the roadside shoulders were closed.
Contractors are also carrying out minor slip removal work on SH5 between Mohaka and Te Pohue with speed restrictions in place around the sites.
Restrictions remain in place at the region's two major roadworks sites, the Watchman Rd/expressway roundabout at Westshore and the Pakowhai and Links Rd intersection with the expressway.
