The night sky will come alive as the Guy goes up in flames at Trinity Hill tonight.

Bang Bang with Gemco is a new event for the Hawke's Bay Food and Wine Classic (F.A.W.C!) designed to celebrate Guy Fawkes.

A bonfire will be blazing in the roaring fire pit, with staff pouring bubbles on arrival.

Orton Catering is set to serve up a seriously posh BBQ, before sparklers are handed out and the Guy lit over a glass of Trinity Hill flagship Syrah. Marshmallows on sticks will be roasted before the guests disperse.

Hawke's Bay Tourism general manager Annie Dundas is excited to be working with a new sponsor on the event, which she hopes will become an annual occurrence.

"That's a new one and it's going to be fabulous, it sold out [on Monday] so that was really great to see," she says.

Feedback from this year's Summer Series, which runs until Sunday, has been "amazing" with businesses and visitors hailing F.A.W.C! as a huge success.

"There have been a lot of positives, which is nice to hear."

Newly added free Masterclasses were held at Napier's MTG Century Theatre on Saturday and had been a highlight of the 10-day event so far.

"Because there was no cost, more people got to see what we are trying to do. We had a really good number of people through the doors."

Tomorrow there's more food, wine and entertainment, with a few spaces left at some of the hottest spots in town from Game of Rhones at Emporium Eatery & Bar in Napier to the uber trendy Gin Palace Milk and Honey One Night Stand at The Box on Ahuriri Village Green.

For a bit of fun for the whole family get along to a special F.A.W.C! themed Hastings City Night Market from 5pm.
