A new NZME recruit, former broadcaster Megan Banks, is getting back behind the mic again - this time in her new home town of Napier.
Ms Banks will stand in for The Hits Hawke's Bay presenter Sarah Van Der Kley, who will be taking time off air to have ababy.
The former television news presenter said she was "really excited" about the opportunity to work with breakfast presenter Adam Green and The Hits team, after a year off from broadcasting.
"While going back to an early alarm might be an adjustment, the fact that the show is such a favourite in the Bay more than makes up for it. Plus, I can't wait to actually drink a full cup of coffee with listeners while it's hot, something I've found to be quite the impossible task with two littlies.
"I've been in Hawke's Bay local for a few years now so I'm really looking forward to spending my mornings getting to know listeners. I've got big shoes to fill while Sarah is away, but I can't wait to get started."
Ms Banks is a new addition to NZME and an approved celebrant, so could possibly perform the naming ceremony for Ms Van Der Kley's new arrival.
"I've been living in Hawkes' bay for about five years now, with my partner and two children. I can absolutely sympathise with what Sarah is going through. I did a similar thing, being pregnant while I was working on air."
