We were lucky enough to get three whole weeks and both went away with our families which was absolute bliss (and no we didn't holiday together, that would be weird and quite frankly unpleasant).
Martin's holiday highlight was the fact that his children had an enforced technology break and he was able to spend time with them without having to schedule it around their computer or gaming console.
Sarah's highlight was sleep.
Martin didn't think it was possible for her to sleep more than she usually does, but it is, and she did.
Sure three weeks off work sounds great (and it was) but it makes it very difficult to get back into the daily grind.
After weeks of relaxing, eating dinner at 8pm and trotting (or stumbling depending on that night's alcohol consumption) off to bed around midnight, imagine the horror of suddenly having an alarm that squawks at you at 4am. Sarah gave her stepsons an alarm clock for Christmas that has a pop up target, and when the alarm sounds you have to shoot the target with a plastic gun before it will shut off.
She is seriously regretting that she didn't keep this for herself. How many times have you wished you could just shoot the alarm?!
Failing that, try setting your alarm to The Hits and we'll do our best to get you out of bed without wanting to shoot anything.
