Comedy, music, puppetry, poetry, a radio play, busking and even a pantomime; these are all part of the wild and wonderful shows that make up the inaugural Fringe in the 'Stings, which today released its full programme.

On from the 13 - 15 October, Fringe in the 'Stings was created
by a Hastings-proud band of merrymakers, developed to compliment the Hawkes Bay Arts Festival and continue the festival atmosphere and arty fun in the Hastings CBD.

Glen Pickering from the Fringe says "It's wonderful to be able to help develop a Fringe in the 'Stings. Hastings has such a rich and vibrant arts community and we wanted to offer even more. All the shows are fun, accessible, and affordable, so people can take a chance and be adventurous."

Fringe in the 'Stings will feature nine shows at the Common Room, the hub for night time shows, and three days of outdoor performances at Albert Square, including a family friendly circo-arts buskers showcase on Saturday 15 October.

Hastings Arts and Cultural Trust Chairwoman, Sandra Hazlehurst says she is "delighted with the Fringe in the 'Stings Festival as not only does it compliment the Harcourts Hawke's Bay Arts Festival but it adds vibrancy, colour and energy to the CBD of Hastings City".

One of the highlights will be 7 days regular and star of cult hit film What we do in the Shadows, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer. Cori found out about Fringe in the 'Stings and immediately wanted to be involved.

"I've wanted to do a show in Hastings for a while and my friend Zoe, who's from the Bay, suggested the Fringe. Festival atmosphere's are always nicer than just a random one off gigs. There's no better setting than a festival."
