The Tararua District expo has mushroomed from the inaugural event last year and the organisers are thrilled.
"This began as a Dannevirke welcome waggon event last year hosted by the Rua Roa Women's Institute and has now grown so big the SHB Federation of Women's Institutes have taken it over and it will be held in the Town Hall," organiser Dianne St Merat said.
"This is a chance to showcase all the clubs and organisation of our district."
St Merat said the group have had great support from the Tararua District Council and district mayor Tracey Collis and there are more than 50 groups on board, but more are welcome.
"We want existing residents as well as those new to our district to come and learn more about what is available here in Tararua," Rosemary Moss said. "We're trying to make people realise what a wonderful, dynamic community this is."
There is already a wide variety of organisations registered for the event, including the Ormondville Rail Preservation Society, civil defence and community groups, sporting organisations and clubs, along with a diabetes nurse, Tararua Health Group, the Department of Internal Affairs and the Eastern and Central Community Trust who provide grants to local groups.
"We're trying to promote the wider community, including Eketahuna, Pahiatua and Woodville as our federation encompasses Tararua," St Merat said. "There is something for everyone in our community and this is the chance to learn what we have to offer."
Money from stand hire will go to our local search and rescue organisation.
