A 43-year-old woman received a neck and spinal injury from the surf at Ocean Beach. PHOTO/FILE

A woman was taken from a popular Hawke's Bay beach with neck, and spine injuries today.

The Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter was called out to Ocean Beach at 5pm for a 43 year old female with a neck and spinal injury from the surf.

She was transported to Hawke's Bay Hospital for further treatment.
