One person is trapped after their vehicle went off the road near Wairoa this afternoon. Photo/File
A person has died following a single vehicle crash on State Highway 2 just outside of Raupunga near Wairoa this afternoon.
A police spokesperson said emergency services were called after the vehicle crashed around 3:30pm and the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, died at the scene.
The person had been trapped in the vehicle after it went off the road and police were on the scene about 3.40pm.
Serious Crash Unit had been notified and would be investigating, they said.
