A Waipawa resident is missing a painting of a much-loved pet bull, and the owner and the artist are both keen to see it returned.

The 2m tall artwork was painted by Waipawa artist Sally Maguire as a memorial after the bull died. The painting had been stored in a little-used building and was last seen in May. The painting's owner discovered it missing last month, along with World War II memorabilia which was also stored in the building.

The painting of Bully has much sentimental value to its owner, and police are urging that anyone who has seen or knows of the large artwork please contact them at the Waipukurau Police Station on 858 9140.
