New Zealand's finest brass players and bands will perform in a contest environment. There will be solos and party events at the Eastern Institute of Technology. Band events will be held in the Napier Municipal Theatre today, from 10am to 6pm. All ages are welcome.

5 The Old People Are Revolting

This is Devon Williamson's hilarious comedy about seniors seeking revenge. Once the "makers and shakers" of their community, the residents of Sunshine Village are now largely ignored and relegated to the sidelines of life. However, the world is about to find out how bolshy car salesmen, hairdressers, farmers and a supposed High Court judge can be. Bursting with a cast of wonderfully eccentric and believable characters and crazy shenanigans, this play is great fun for the cast and is brilliantly funny entertainment for audiences from start to finish.

At the Aubyn Theatre, 815 St Aubyn St West, Hastings, today at 2pm and tomorrow at 4pm. R15 and tickets $25.

6 Brass Extravaganza

Enjoy a fun and foot-tapping afternoon's entertainment, listening to New Zealand's top brass soloists playing your favourite tunes from stage and screen. The event is being presented by the Brass Band Association of New Zealand and Deco Bay Brass. At the Napier Municipal Theatre on Tennyson St, tomorrow at 1.30pm. Something musical for all ages. Adult $15, senior $12, child $5, family pass (2 adults and 2 children), $35.

7 Vintage Railcar Shuttles

HB Toyota Winter Deco
