The driver of a truck which ploughed through a fence and into a wood pile yesterday escaped with just a minor leg injury.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Pakipaki Rd, Hastings, near Pakipaki School just before 2pm yesterday.
The officer in charge said a truck had been
stationary on Pakipaki Rd, waiting to turn right, when another stock truck and trailer came up behind it.
The driver had tried to squeeze his truck past, but had "clipped" the back of the stationary truck and driven through a fence.
Heretaunga territory manager Brendon Hutchinson said the ambulance had attended but the man did not require transportation.
