There are no sexy sensitive new age guys in Hawke's Bay.
That's the claim from the people at Durex New Zealand who are on the hunt for the country's hottest Sensitive New Age Guy (Snag).
The competition has been open for over a month, and so far no nominations have come forth
from the Hawke's Bay/East Coast area.
Durex New Zealand manager Matt Humphrey is stumped to explain why Hawke's Bay Snags have been slow off the mark.
"Other regions have submitted their finest, but we don't know where the Hawke's Bay's sexy Snags are hiding.
"So far it's the southern men who are leading the charge, with most of the entries coming from Southland, followed by Manawatu and Canterbury," he said.
Mr Humphrey was confident there were some Hawke's Bay Snags lurking in the woodwork, and suggested it was up to the fairer sex to nominate their men.
A Snag could roughly be defined as a man who was in touch with his emotional, more sensitive side and was unafraid to show it. But Mr Humphrey said the competition was open to all sorts of men.
"We've received entries from wives and girlfriends who say it's their partner's sexy smile and generosity that makes them their sexy Snag. Others have nominated their rugby playing, diamond-in-the-rough partners who help with the kids and around the house ... we're looking for all sorts of Kiwi guys out there," he said.
Hawke's Bay locals had until November 5 to nominate. Regional finalists would be profiled on the Durex website where the public could vote for the country's sexiest Snag.
