The Napier Girls' High School annual Affordable Art Exhibition will take place next month, with even more artists and affordable artwork on show.
The school fundraiser, on March 11, 12 and 13, gives art lovers the opportunity to view and purchase more than 250 pieces of artwork created by morethan 60 professional artists from throughout New Zealand, as well as art by Napier Girls' High School students and teachers.
With every piece of artwork priced at $1000 or less, the exhibition provides a chance to purchase quality art at affordable prices.
Local artist Heather Wilson and a group of parents of Napier Girls' High students are the driving force behind the community event, which raised $20,000 last year.
"Our goal is to make the 2016 exhibition even better, with more artists involved, more art on offer and other exciting additions to the event including a pop-up caf and a spot prize giveaway on the opening evening," Ms Wilson said.
Visitors can experience an exciting range of creative mediums from paintings, prints and photography to ceramics, mixed media, sculpture and screen prints.
The Affordable Art Exhibition will be launched with a ticketed opening night event, followed by a two-day exhibition.
There will also be a raffle, with first, second and third prizes donated by local artists Mauricio Benega, Justin Kite and Tony Harrington, collectively valued at more than $2000.
A vibrant spot prize painting, created by Ms Wilson, will be given away at the launch.
The funds raised from the exhibition will be used to help students make well-informed choices as they move from high school into tertiary education and careers.
