A man charged over an attack on an Ahuriri couple three weeks ago has now also been charged with stealing about $6000 worth of goods from the couple's used clothing business.
Kurt Edward Taylor, 49, arrested a day after the October 31 assaults, entered no pleas when he made his
second appearance in Napier District Court yesterday.
Charged initially with wounding businessman David Tait with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, he now faces further charges of wounding Mr Tait's wife, aggravated burglary, threatening to kill another man, and intentional damage. He is also charged with stealing clothing from Seekers Megamart between June 20 and the end of October.
Judge Bridget Mackintosh remanded him in continued custody, until December 7 on the theft and damage charges, and January 12 on the indictable violence charges.
