A dozen rata trees have been hit by an act of vandalism in Hastings.
Hastings District Council parks and property services manager Colin Hosford said that last Tuesday a number of rata trees in Karamu Road North were first vandalised by someone tearing off some of their lower limbs.
"Unfortunatelythe trees have suffered another more substantial attack on Saturday, when more significant damage was done with more branches ripped off," Hosford said.
The attacks have damaged 12 trees between Kenilworth St and Frederick St.
Hastings District Council was keen to hear from anyone who can help identify anybody involved, Hosford said.
