A Napier woman plans on globetrotting and giving her home a makeover after winning $180,000.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was "stunned" when she realised the fortune she'd just come into - her Strike Four ticket exactly matched the first four balls in order drawn from the Lotto machine.

"It feels unreal," she said. "It's just going to make life so much easier."

She intends to enjoy her money by planning a trip of a lifetime.

"My bucket list includes going on safari in Africa and now I can do that," she said. "I'm also planning a big trip to Europe, taking in places like Scotland, Italy, France, Spain and Austria."

She also wants to give her home "a wee bit of a makeover," with a fresh lick of paint and new furniture and furnishings.

A 2012 survey of big lottery winners by Lotto New Zealand revealed that 64 per cent of big winners share their win their families and 52 per cent give money to charity, and the latest Strike winner is joining those statistics.

"My family will benefit from my win and I'm planning to give a donation to a national children's charity that I've been supporting for ages."

The winner bought her ticket at Greenmeadows New World.

Powerball was not struck on Saturday and has jackpotted to $20 million.
