Famed English art rock band 10cc is set to perform at Napier's Municipal Theatre. Formed in 1972, the band - Graham Gouldman, Rick Fenn, Mick Wilson, Mike Stevens and Paul Burgess - were hot favourites when they performed in New Zealand to over 50,000 people at a summer concert tour last year.

Fans will hear hits such as Dreadlock Holiday, The Things We Do For Love, Art For Art's Sake, Rubber Bullets, I'm Mandy Fly Me and I'm Not In Love which features in films Bridget Jones's Diary and Guardians of the Galaxy.

10cc, who hail from Prestwich in England, have sold over 30 million albums worldwide and provided some of the most lyrically dexterous and musically varied songs of the 70s and 80s.

Napier's Cabana owner and renowned muso Roy Brown said 10cc consisted of some freakishly amazing musicians.

"They are some of the best of their time."

He said the band has four amazing songwriters and their albums are stacked with hits.

"This is what makes them so great."

Mr Brown said their 1976 song I'm Mandy Fly Me was a mammoth 7-minute hit to rival Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

The band split in 1976 following creative differences but reunited in 1991 to record the album Meanwhile.

In 1995 the band released their final album, Mirror Mirror .

As an extra treat for fans, Graham Gouldman will also be opening the Napier show with an acoustic set of songs he has written for other artists.

New Zealand arts and music website 13floor.co.nz described the band's sound as having impeccable harmonies and outstanding musicianship.

10cc will play at the Napier Municipal Theatre on Saturday, November 14, at 7pm.

Tickets available through 0800-TICKETEK, www.ticketek.co.nz.
