It was possibly the biggest concert for teenagers in Napier last night as Reece Mastin, Australia's answer to Justin Beiber, took to the stage in front of a sell-out crowd at the Pettigrew-Green Arena.
Mastin, the 17-year-old England born overnight star who considers himself still just a kid from South Australia, has been the idol of younger fans across Australasia since winning the third season of The X Factor.
His winning single Good Night sold 30,000 copies in Australia in 24 hours in November, and went platinum in New Zealand with 15,000 sales almost as quickly.
Last night's concert was the last of the young star's four-stop tour, his first concert venture outside Australia. Previous concerts were in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland.
