A musician since the age of 13, Richie, was originally inspired by punk, singing in a band led by Guy Chambers, who went on to produce and write songs for Robbie Williams.
"Music is a passion for me, I love writing songs, playing and performing, particularly with such a great gang as our current line-up," Richie says.
Alt-country punk rock n' roll band Devil's Elbow are the second act on this weekend's bill.
Since forming in 2007, they have released three EPs and two albums, including Absolute Domain which hit shelves last December.
Core members are guitarist and vocalist Alec Withers, bassist Ben Persen and drummer John Hastings who play live sets with various guests, including James Rochester.
Their first single, KO, received extensive airplay, culminating in a nationwide tour as support for punk legend Grant Hart.
Debut album Sand on Chrome was mixed and mastered by legendary musician/producer Ian Morris and came out in August 2010.
Since then Devil's Elbow have played music festivals throughout New Zealand and have had music videos on C4 and Juice TV.
Last but not least to take the stage is James Rochester, who has been in bands since he was a teenager.
Rochester began playing guitar at age eight and writing his own music from 15-years old. He spent time in London then five years in Wellington as a working musician and guitar repairer.
Sunday will also be the last chance for concertgoers to pick up a piece of local artwork for a worthy cause.
The music-themed canvases are being sold to raise funds for Creative Hastings, and are on display from 1.30pm to 5pm.
