Ted and the team enjoy a movie -- one can only guess what sort.

Ted and the team enjoy a movie -- one can only guess what sort.

If you are easily offended or a sensitive type, give Ted 2 a wide berth.

If you are prepared to enjoy humour in a rather crass, raw form, buy your ticket now.

Having enjoyed Ted's introduction to the world in 2012, I wasn't going to miss his return. And I wasn't disappointed.

Writer/director Seth MacFarlane has created a teddy bear character who is like no teddy bear before him.

When we first met Ted, he was John's (Mark Wahlberg) toy. He came alive one stormy night and the pair were best friends for life.

We rejoin his adventures as Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) settles into married life with Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth).

The couple's plan to have a child is thrown into disarray when Ted's status as a "person" is challenged by authorities.

Ted is deemed to be property.

There is no way Ted and Tami-Lynn can adopt or have a child with donor sperm unless Ted has his status changed.

John and Ted enlist the help of young lawyer Samantha (Amanda Seyfried) to help regain Ted's "human" status in the courts.

But waiting in the wings is serial pest Donny (Giovanni Ribisi) who has always wanted Ted as his own.

He is just waiting for the opportunity to grab the furry guy.

An entertaining sidelight through the movie are special appearances from people such as Liam Neeson, Jay Leno, US football star Tom Brady, Jimmy Kimmel and Morgan Freeman.

Neeson, in particular, pops in for only about a minute but what a minute it is.

Ted 2 is absolutely more of the same from the original.

Nothing is sacred and no references are off limits. MacFarlane is prepared to grab a laugh whenever and wherever he can.

Ted 2 is not for everybody but if you are prepared to accept it at face value, it is a hoot.
