Masterchef winner Nadia Lim gave a "motivational speech" to budding young EIT students yesterday, hoping to make it big in the hospitality industry.
EIT's Tourism and Hospitality head of school Jenny Robertson said about 50 EIT hospitality students were told to "follow their dream" by the reality TV star who is in town for the F.A.W.C! Summer Series.
"She talked about her love of food, where and how she started, and winning Masterchef in 2011. It was great, the students asked a lot of really constructive questions and she related to the young students really well.
"Her message was there is a variety of avenues for people who study hospitality. She is writing cookbooks and has started her company My Food Bag that delivers meals to people who are too busy to cook."
