The performance offers a taste of their yet-to-be released sophomore LP, Science and Survival, recorded in Biarritz, France, and co-produced by Forrester Saville.
They have been working hard on the follow up to their gold-selling debut, The Horrifying Truth, which was released in 2011.
"All going well it's set to drop in May, we are just putting the finishing touches on it. We used the same producer who has done Karnivool and Dead Letter Circus, we found him in Australia and me and Paul are co-producing again.
"The biggest difference is that it was recorded in France, it's also more progressive - the last track is 15 minutes long." While they have taken careful steps to move the CD on, they have stayed true to the sound which built their career. "It's a natural progression, we haven't gone off track as such, for this gig we will be playing some new stuff and the bangers from our first album."
Despite global fame, I am Giant remain down to earth and always take the opportunity to interact with fans. "That's our job, they are the one's buying our music, we couldn't do this without them."
Since its inception last year, event organiser Greg Miller has worked hard to secure a range of artists across all genres for Valley Vibes.
"I think it's a good mix I have dealt with them all in the past so I know they are all great," he said. "I was the first person to bring I am Giant to The Cabana when they came out, Dick Johnson I have done gigs with and Mayavanya have not been to Hawke's Bay before because there's no dance clubs to play them - most are all about the top 40, but those girls are really talented."
