I am Giant will join an epic line-up of national and international artists at Hawke's Bay's Valley Vibes on Saturday.

Audiences can expect a worldclass performance when London based rockers I Am Giant take the stage in Hawke's Bay on Saturday.

The band are in town for Valley Vibes at Linden Estate Winery, which welcomes a new line-up of national and international artists including Mayavanya, Misfits of Zion, P Money and DJ Magik Johnson.

I am Giant features Kiwis Shelton Woolright, drummer, (Blindspott) and bassist Paul Matthews (Stylus and Tadpole) alongside Londoners Max O'Donnell on guitar and vocalist Ed Martin.

This appearance concludes a New Zealand promotional tour for the single Razor Wire Reality, before they head offshore to complete a string of dates in the UK and Europe.

"We started in Christchurch and finish up in Napier, what better way than with Valley Vibes? The venue looks amazing, I have been to Napier but never visited the winery so that's exciting," Woolright said.

The performance offers a taste of their yet-to-be released sophomore LP, Science and Survival, recorded in Biarritz, France, and co-produced by Forrester Saville.

They have been working hard on the follow up to their gold-selling debut, The Horrifying Truth, which was released in 2011.

"All going well it's set to drop in May, we are just putting the finishing touches on it. We used the same producer who has done Karnivool and Dead Letter Circus, we found him in Australia and me and Paul are co-producing again.

"The biggest difference is that it was recorded in France, it's also more progressive - the last track is 15 minutes long." While they have taken careful steps to move the CD on, they have stayed true to the sound which built their career. "It's a natural progression, we haven't gone off track as such, for this gig we will be playing some new stuff and the bangers from our first album."

Despite global fame, I am Giant remain down to earth and always take the opportunity to interact with fans. "That's our job, they are the one's buying our music, we couldn't do this without them."

Since its inception last year, event organiser Greg Miller has worked hard to secure a range of artists across all genres for Valley Vibes.

"I think it's a good mix I have dealt with them all in the past so I know they are all great," he said. "I was the first person to bring I am Giant to The Cabana when they came out, Dick Johnson I have done gigs with and Mayavanya have not been to Hawke's Bay before because there's no dance clubs to play them - most are all about the top 40, but those girls are really talented."

Tickets start from $55 including transport to and from the event but if you mention this article at Big Noise in Hastings, Pepper's Hair and Beauty Boutique in Napier or Valley D Vine in Eskdale you will get a special deal - two tickets for $60.
