Their wedding reception is a rather rowdy affair, thanks in no small part to best man Lumpy (Tyler Labine), a larger-than-life character who likes to drink and likes to party and simply doesn't know when to stop.
When he falls and dies in the early hours of the morning, the married couple vow to return him to his hometown and arrange a funeral.
As they try to track down his other friends for the funeral, they are left with more questions than answers.
He has dropped out of law school, quit his job and had a rather unusual friendships with a 15-year-old girl.
They cannot fathom what Lumpy was up to in his final months and why he had been behaving in such a strange way.
It seems only his new friend, Ramsey (Addison Timlin) can tell them the answers to what was going through Lumpy's mind.
When we finally discover what was driving Lumpy, we are led into an entirely new world and our understanding is complete.
