The annual Art X National Art Exhibition and Sale in the Pan Pac foyer of the Napier Municipal Theatre opens on Saturday and will run for two weeks.
More than 60 artists are showing this year in the Rotary Club of Greenmeadows fundraiser, including many of Hawke's Bay artists, covering a range of media in contemporary and traditional styles including painting, glass, sculpture and wood carving from the affordable to the high end of the art market.
The popular event , which attracts an average of 5000 visitors each year, has run since 1982, shifting to its current home in 1998. Each year it raises thousands of dollars and over the past decade the club has given about $250,000 towards community organisations.
