Social media conference Mediasense is nearly sold out and it is no surprise. The conference to be held at Black Barn will be a fast-paced affair with real life social media marketing case studies up for dissection.
San Francisco and Havelock North-based Hal Josephson said the April 9 conference would be the place to be for those interested in harnessing the latest trends.
"There is no place with as much information and as many speakers as we have," the international deal maker said.
"There will be a lot of information on what the trends are and how they can be used."
Ten speakers were to present, six with detailed case studies, and four would beam in live from Los Angeles, New York, Memphis and San Francisco.
Mr Josephson said there was no risk of attendees appearing ignorant of the new medias beyond Twitter and Facebook. "Most people are at the early stages. We'll be talking about the many ways it can be used as part of a marketing strategy."
The marketing strategy did not have to be about making money, he said.
"It's for people who need to know more - anyone who wants to communicate with their community."
The six case studies were from Kaila Colbin, chief marketing officer of Minimonos; Tim Pointer, founder of I-Marketing; Richard Irvine, online community manager for Telecom; Jayson Bryant, founder of Wine Discoveries; Tom Reidy, Director of Catalyst 90 and Courtney Lambert.
