Now that all your training is about to pay off, here is some important information for tomorrow's Hawke's Bay Today Country2Coast event to help the day run smoothly.
Registration
Entrant numbers and transponders must be collected at the Havelock North Community Centre today between 10am and 2pm. Late registrations will be accepted
at the River Rd or Haumoana start points tomorrow but will be cash only and will incur a late entry fee of $10.
The start line
Entrants for the 16km event should gather at the Riverlands carpark, River Rd, Havelock North, ready for walkers to start at 8am and runners at 9am.
Entrants for the 7km event should meet at Grange Rd North, Haumoana. Walkers start at 9.30am, and runners start at 10am.
Due to the number of participants - over 1000 - we advise people to turn up with plenty of time to find a park and warm up before their events.
During the event
The approximate time required to travel the full 16km is about three hours, and the finish for both distances is at the Clifton Bay Cafe. The course will be marshalled and there will be a number of water stops and portable toilets along the journey as well as at the start and finish points.
Refreshments
Water stops will be provided at River Rd, Grange Rd and finish at Clifton Bay Cafe. Food and drink will be available for purchase at the finish area.
Bus transport
Buses will depart Clifton Bay Cafe at the conclusion of the prize-giving to transport entrants who wish to leave their cars at the start. The carpark will be monitored by security. Buses need to be booked at registration at a cost of $3 a person.
Prize-giving
All prizes will be spot prizes. Prize-giving of major prizes only will be at 12pm with all other spot prizes being separately drawn and available for collection after the event.
