Real estate agent Ray White has opened a new office among the bars, boats and bustle of Ahuriri.
It is owned by Phil Hogg and Virginia Wilson who report many new listings, due to their established sales profiles.
The Napier area has a population of 60,000 people with just over 24,400 rateable properties and a diversification of property, from waterfront apartments to lifestyle blocks.
The average sale price for residential houses in the region is $315,000 with about 80 sales on average each month.
Mr Hogg said the business may cause voices to rise on occasion.
"We intend on having the office utilised as an auction venue and this should create good interest in the local prices for the area," he said.
Carey Smith, chief executive of Ray White Real Estate, said he was delighted with the new team.
"They will pave the way for new energy in the real estate market through the region and given their previous successful sales, this will stand them in good stead for their business ownership in Napier."
The new office, on Lever St in Ahuriri, directly opposite The Quay, can be contacted through the website www.rwwestquay.co.nz.
