Unison's network investment specialist Thahirah Jalal was the only candidate chosen from New Zealand to present her research paper to an international audience at the Trondheim PowerTech conference in Norway recently.
Unison Group chief executive Ken Sutherland says Unison has supported Ms Jalal and is thrilled her paper was selected.
"Thahirah's paper shows great insight, and we are lucky to have such a high calibre of staff working here at Unison. The Hawke's Bay community is fortunate to have such bright, young talent here, putting the region on the international stage for research intelligence."
Thahirah's paper, which investigates the impact of the market structure and generation mix on the available electricity supply during future dry hydro years in New Zealand, was presented to university representatives from Europe, America and Australia.
