Hastings District Council's Building inspection service should return to normal thanks to full staffing levels having being attained.
Building Consents Manager Malcom Hart said delays in inspection times had lengthened due to four building officers leaving.
"A number of officers have been moved from the building compliance and asset management section to alleviate the problem in the short term."
Four new building officers had been employed, two with prior experience. Mr Hart said council had a target of offering bookings for inspections within 24 hours of the requested booking times on 80 per cent of occasions.
Some inspections had taken up to four days.
