Eric Rush, former All Black and owner-operator of an Auckland New World supermarket, was guest speaker at the ENZAFoods 50th birthday celebrations last week in Hastings.
He told staff their FreshFields apple sauce pouch was a popular choice with his shoppers. ENZAFoods invested $4 million in a new processing linefor the product, which created 14 new jobs.
The popularity of the pureed fruit was a boon for orchardists, giving them an alternative market for their fruit. Mr Rush is pictured with ENZAFoods general manager Jon Marks and Tukituki MP and Minister of Commerce Craig Foss.
