ENZAFoods members led a bike-a-thon from Hardinge Rd in Napier to Clifton Bay on Saturday to raise funds for the Onekawa Plunket Centre.
In addition to being a fund-raiser for Team Plunket, the ride was part of the firm's Workfit programme and a social club get-together.
A 7-year-old and a dog were
among those who covered the full distance, while other younger children joined in from Haumoana for the final scenic stretch along the ocean foreshore.
About $1500 was raised and sponsors will be approached this week to make good on pledges.
The Team Plunket challenge sees Team Kepka Builders pitched against Team Speight's Ale House to see whose players can raise the most funds for the new centre.
The Speight's Ale House Team Plunket Quiz is tonight at 7pm in Ahuriri.
There is a $50 entry fee for teams of four.
The Team Plunket business player who raises the most money wins an Amazing Race corporate package for 20 people from the Kiwi Adventure Trust.
Like the TV show, the winning group will be put into teams and race to complete challenges, earn rewards and score points.
All entrants will be in to win spot prizes donated by Sharpies Golf Driving Range, Speight's Ale House, Campbell's Bakery and OnTrack Adventures.
The new Plunket centre will be a "one-stop shop" in Onekawa so families can easily access all Plunket services.
Facilities will include a parents' centre, nurses' clinic, playroom, parenting education classes, family-friendly cafe, toy library and car-seat rental.
