Sam Wood of ATI Engineering in Hastings is stepping down from his managing director role.

He is to take on the position of managing director of Nanobrewing Ltd, as sales of the ATI-manufactured WilliamsWarn personal brewing machine take off.

Simon Dunn has been named the new ATI managing director and Andrew Richards has been appointed project manager.

Mr Dunn has been with ATI for 13 years and Mr Richards is the previous owner/manager of SIS Ltd.

Auckland home-brewer Santiago Aon Ratto won gold two weeks ago for a pilsner he made on a WilliamsWarn, beating big industry players to receive the top honour.

The brewing machine that can make commercial-quality beer in seven days.

"We sent 10 or 11 beers over there and Santiago won a gold, which is pretty exciting," Mr Wood said.

He said the victory resulted in 29 immediate orders, to be added to a waiting list of 316.
