Donald Trump wasn't there, but another group of business moguls made up for him - enticing apprentices of their own at an EIT careers seminar at their Taradale campus last night.
The school of business hosted a number of local professionals and more than 70 tycoon-hopefuls from local schools and communities to see what the school could offer their futures.
Liaison manager Emma Peat said the seminar was for anyone who had an interest in business but was not yet enrolled in one of their courses.
"We have a lot of high school kids here, but it's also for mature students or even those who already have studies," she said.
Young attendee, Oliver Simpson, 15, is home schooled and attended the evening to see where his interests in business and finance may take him.
"We got an email from the home-school support group and I've sort of always been interested in business and finance so thought it would be good if I started finding out what I needed to do to get there."
Institute careers counsellor Eddie Carson said the evening aimed to give locals an idea of the career aspirations they could have in Hawke's Bay.
"A lot of people don't actually know about what's happening in the business districts here, down Omahu Rd and the industrial areas of Ahuriri.
"Those businesses are here to talk to students about how to build those kinds of careers."
