SAFFI Vette has been eliminated from the ISA World Surfing Games in 29th place.
The Gisborne surfer finished fourth in a low scoring fifth-round heat where she could only find 5.4 points from her two waves.
Vette had previously advanced through her early morning (NZ time) repechage heat with a
10.34 heat score before entering the fifth round.
The event, held in El Salvador, was the last chance for competitors to qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games. Vette's result means she will not qualify.
The only other New Zealand competitor in the competition, Paige Hareb, finished second in her round five heat to advance to the semi-finals.
