A banging end to Gisborne Speedway Club’s season is on the cards on the track and above it this weekend.

Coveted trophies, championship glory and cash are on the line in a doubleheader meeting at the MTF Awapuni Speedway.

The season finale includes another Jukes Carriers-sponsored fireworks show when it gets dark on Saturday night.

“Fingers crossed for the weather this time round,” said club president Sam Hughes after the meeting was rescheduled due to the weather.

This weekend is looking good weather-wise, with MetService predicting fine weather for both nights.

“It’s great to see in excess of 180 cars turning up to support our small club,” Hughes said. “The racing should be unreal given the numbers we’ve got across the programmes both nights.”
