Beaches and water were the main themes among more than 300 pictures sent in for the summer photo competition The Gisborne Herald ran on our Facebook page.
There were so many amazing pictures it was difficult to choose a winner but we had to, so without further ado . .

A close runner-up is Katie Sadlier’s picture of her daughter Nyah Sadlier, aged 3, taken at Turihaua Point.
