Seeking owners of derelict house

GISBORNE District Council is trying to track down the owners of a house that has been left derelict since 2016.

The property is located at 22 Glasgow Crescent and GDC environmental services and protection director Helen Montgomery said the environmental health team was trying to trace the ownerS, as they were dealing with Health Act issues.

“These include a burnt-out and derelict building, and an accumulation of offensive rubbish.”

Ms Montgomery said there was also a court order outstanding from 2016 that the “nuisance” be abated.

“However, the property remains in the same state.

“We cannot contact the owner but the same owner also owns the other property on Ormond Road. This public notice is part of the legal process the council needs to do to in order to undertake further steps.”

Anyone who has any information or knowS how to contact Michael John Currie and Julie Anne Louisa Currie, who are the registered owners of 22 Glasgow Crescent, Gisborne, and 195 Ormond Road, Gisborne, should contact the council.

“We understand they may currently be overseas.”
