Opinion

I came home at the start of December 2018 to rest. I had two strokes in 2015, but continued working in Auckland. It all caught up on me, though, so I had to leave my job and come home.

The Gisborne Stroke Support Group here is an amazing group of people, helping me in my new journey as I re-establish myself back in Gisborne after 30 years away.

On Sunday, April 28 from 10am, the Gisborne Stroke Support Group is holding its annual family fun run and walk, to raise funds to ensure people receive the support they need when a family member suffers from a stroke.

The centre is a non-profit organisation. All funds need to be raised via donations etc, so this run/walk is an important event for it. Enter at: www.gisbornestrokesupport.org.nz/fun-run — $10 adults, $5 children, all are welcome. Spot prizes will be given out as well.

I hope to see you there.
