A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.
A MAN grabbed a garden hose and tackled a fire that started in a washing machine at his home in Munro Street yesterday. Fire and Emergency NZ sent an appliance to the house at 10am.
“The man was alerted by smoke alarms and had put the fire out with the
hose by the time we arrived,” a senior firefighter said. “He did a very good job.”
There was no structural damage to the wash house but the washing machine was a write-off. The fire appeared to have started in the machine’s motor.
